Great for camping events Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5
We do living history events and camp. We origionally bought this for events & places we couldn't make a ground fire, or fires had to be in a container. Now we use it at all our camping & living history sites. It looks close enough to origional braziers we have never had a problem at events. We use a concrete stepping stone under it to protect the grass. It holds my Dutch oven & bean pot which both have legs, and will hold a skillet & my husband's large coffeepot at the same time. After 6 hard years it still looks & acts good. Wiping it down with corn or olive oil when warm keeps it that way. If we get another grill it will probably be the Logic pre seasoned, but it will definitely be the Lodge Sportsmans.

Great patio grill Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5
My husband and I replaced our big gas grill with this sportsman's hibachi grill. It is heavy, cast iron and a very substantial product. It is perfect for 2 or 3 people.

This product was designed by a neanderthal. Although robust in construction, it lacks features that hibachis selling for even 1/3rd of it's price routinely feature. It has only two grill height settings, and good luck if you want to change the grill height while the coals are hot. You will need insulated gloves or tongs to do so. I have seen dime-store hibachis with up to four grilling heights, and no worries about making a quick switch in height. The grill's iron legs tend to get very hot in use, so beware of placement on wood or other heat sensitive surfaces. The door to stoke/service coals is a useless feature. All in all, this product was a disappointment. It may yet enjoy a more useful life as a flower pot.

Used as camping grill Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5
I got one of these for my Birthday while camping in White Mts NH. I have a small propane portable plus my Fleetwood pop-up stove plus camp fire ring supplied by National Forrest. I used to cook steaks over camp fire ring but had issues with this. I had to cover grate with foil since who know what was burned in it. Gas stove did alright job but lacks barbeque flavor. This stove cooked up two good size wonderfull steaks using two big coals from campfie plus some maple twigs picked up around camp site. WOW did those steaks come out great! Control for air flow plus loading door for twigs made fire very easy to control. Just be aware this is not a lite and walk away grill, but if you like to cook, and like that outdoor smoke taste you cant beat this set up. Yes it is heavy but that also means sturdy. Next time I will probably put foil at bottom of ash pan to ease clean up. Clearly this is not meant for everyone but as I said if you enjoy outdoor cooking and great taste this is a great set up!

This Hibachi is the real deal. I have owned this grill for 3 seasons now and it is still like new and I use it often to cook some great steaks or burgers. You can control the heat almost perfectly with the adjustable slide door. Want to give your steak a nice flavor without using an entire bag of charcoal... then this is the grill for you. Just empty the ashes out when your done, clean the grill top and then put it away. It will last a lifetime.
