I admit it freely -- I'm a knife snob. Before I buy a knife, I have to hold it and fiddle with it to make sure it's properly balanced. I have to see that the bolster (the flared bit between the blade and the handle) is big enough to act as a brake, but not so large as to be a nuisance. Score up two more yes votes.
These knives last and last, and slice and slice -- and are a pure pleasure to use. And they look great on your table, too. Relaxed enough that they don't make your everyday china look cheap, but well-made enough to look good next to your wedding china.
Buy these knives.
