Hoover F6030-900 SteamVac Widepath with CleanSurge Carpet Cleaner Description
Designed for pet owners and active households, this hot-water vacuum cleans carpets and scrubs bare floors with an extra-wide, 14-inch cleaning path after they've been dry-vacuumed. The vacuum applies hot tap water and cleaning concentrate (16 ounces of carpet/upholstery concentrate included) into carpet fibers or onto bare floors with six rotating brushes at two speeds (plus "off" when brushing isn't needed) and then vacuums up the dirty water. A powered hand-tool comes along for scrubbing extra-soiled areas, stairs, and auto interiors. No faucet hookup is required. Both clean-water and dirty-water tanks detach for filling and emptying, and the machine shuts off automatically when the dirty-water tank is full. The vacuum cleans going forward and backward and automatically adjusts for carpet heights, bare floors, and an accompanying stair/upholstery nozzle (great for auto interiors). It has a finger-trigger for applying the cleaning solution and a surge button to spray more solution on spots and heavy-traffic areas. The on/off switch is toe-operated for convenience. A 10-foot tool hose and 30-foot power cord provide an extra-wide cleaning reach. Assembly requires just two nuts and bolts and one Phillips-head screw (all included), and the instruction booklet is easy to follow. The vacuum carries a 1-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack
Hoover F6030-900 SteamVac Widepath with CleanSurge Carpet Cleaner customer reviews:
Not so much the Steamvac problem, but UPS I received this item in poor condition. I was hesitant to buying online, but threw caution to the wind and tried it anyway. When it arrived, the box was opened on the top and a massive hole on the side. It was missing two bottles of fluid, and two parts to the Steamvac itself.
I must say though, I did my research and will be buying this item in Charlotte, NC if I can find it in a store. I vow to never buy online again.
ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST!!!! FOUR KIDS, A GOLDEN RETRIEVER, 3 CATS, A MARINE, 9 MONTHS PREGNANT, TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS, AND NIGHTMARISH OATMEAL CARPET IN A TWO-STORY HOME. THIS MACHINE HAS BEEN A HEAVEN SENT. IT'S LIGHTER AND LESS CUMBERSOME THAN THE BISSELL AND HASN'T GOT THE BELT WHICH MY DOG'S FUR TENDED TO GET TANGLED IN AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THE BISSELL PROSTEAMER AND HAD TO TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIRS 3 TIMES IN THE FIRST YEAR. IT FINALLY GOT THROWN IN THE TRASH. THIS WORKS GREAT WITH PET STAINS AND IT'S EXTREMELY EASY TO MANEUVER. I WENT THROUGH THE ENTIRE HOUSE IN 2 DAYS (NESTING TENDS TO DO THAT), AND I WAS SO PLEASED. I'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS CARRYING IT UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS OR GETTING IT INTO SMALLER SPACES WITH THE POWERED BRUSH. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT IT DIDN'T HAVE AS MANY ATTACHMENTS AS THE ORIGINAL WHICH MY MOTHER HAS, BUT IT'S A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR ALL OF THE CONVENIENCE AND VERSATILITY OF THE PRODUCT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYBODY WHO DOESN'T WANT TO FOOT THE BILL FOR PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANERS IN THEIR HOME. IT WILL PAY FOR ITSELF THE FIRST TIME YOU USE IT. Piece of junk Spend a few more bucks and buy a real carpet cleaner. It simply doesnt work. Why? Poor engineering. Thanks hoover. Can I have my three hundred bucks back? Poor design in hose assembly connection Overall this cleaner works adequately. I've owned it for 2 years and have been satisfied with the exception of the design of the hose assembly. After repeated use, the hose assembly will sever at it's connection with the base (just behind the recovery tank). The only way to avoid this problem is to NEVER lay the unit all the way back when removing the spent water. You have to release the handle every time you remove the recovery tank- so you need to take special care not to lay the handle/head of the unit all the way back. It strains the hose junction and eventually the connection fails. It's a bit of a pain to avoid releasing all the way back- there is no mechanism in the design to stop it. You have to prop the cleaner up against a wall or couch or something when removing the tank...It only took 2 months for my hose to sever and I was unable to use the hand held cleaner part after that. This does not affect the general cleaning-the unit still works. It is frustrating though because I bought it primarily to steam clean stairs. So watch your hose or you'll be disappointed. Hoover F6030-900 This is great machine. It should be called a shampooer because it has oscillating brushes, although the Hoover cleaning solution does not suds up.
I've been cleaning my carpet since the last time the Management had it cleaned over 1 year ago with Carpet cleaner and a sponge mop, my carpet is tan and began to look soiled and some parts matted. I vacuum once per week and have a no shoe policy which helped its appearance.
After cleaning with the Hoover Widepath the return tank had black water, I was shocked at how much dirt came out of my carpet. My carpet has never been so clean, I mean even after carpet cleaners have cleaned it. My carpet is now bright, fresh, and clean smelling. I am completely satisfied with the results.
The manual is well done and tells you how to clean the carpet in a very easy to understand format, it also has an index.
This was the first time I used a machine to clean my carpet and found it easy with the Hoover Widepath. After cleaning I prepared my unit for storage per the manual. All the parts were easily accessible and cleaned.
The manual states some models come with a nozzle cleaner, (Nozzle is the part that sucks up the water and dirt) use it to clean the nozzle or suck up 2 cups of hot tap water. Mine did not have a nozzle cleaner but I was able to use coat hanger and 2 cups of hot water to clear the nozzle of residual debris it was not much.
Going into the carpet cleaning business with this machine has cross my mind.
The Hoover F6030-900 Steamvac Widepath is highly recommended.
P.S.
After reading T. Jensen's "kid wrangler review (above) that warned about the severed hose I decided to adjust the hose length to make it longer, now there is now plenty of slack for the handle head to be laid out completly.
