Osterizer 4125 6 Piece Kitchen Center, Chrome customer reviews:
Does the Job! I've read the reviews before buying this Blender and knew that it would be noisy. The reviews where right, it is noisy but, I associate that with the power that it has! It has no problem crushing ice, etc. The only problem that I have with the unit is, it should have come with a bottom for both containers. Not one! Keep the food processor attachement (I have one) and give an extra bottom! I hope that you're reading this...OSTER! Great machine! I really like this blender becasue it is simple in its design, easy to clean, powerful, and userfriendly. The many accessories are also a great feature because I needed a food processor and like that I don't need two machines. I have used the mini jar and it works great for making sauces and pestos. You can go from the blender to the fridge with this jar. It's a very useful addition to the set. The large glass jar is better than a plastic one because it does not hold smells and is easy to clean. I am very happy with my purchase. Oster is great Oster products are made to last - I've had great experience with them and know of some of these blenders to last at least 20 years. For some reason my beehive motor went berserk and stopped working maybe due to an overload, but Oster was quick to replace the piece for free after 4 years of use. Maybe mine was an outlier, but I still recommend. Hurricane in a bottle... I've owned this blender for nearly 3 years. It quickly became my best friend. It can be noisy,..but come on, who expects to crush ice silently? I'll fess up to using it at least twice a month, for frozen drinks, usually making anywhere from six to seven batches of frozen drinks per usage. By now, I would have buried a lesser blender.
I've had no problems using various sized ice cubes, no pre-crushing required for this unit. None of my guests have complained of slurping up a chunk of ice in their frozen concoctions. I load up the jar with ice and my choice of liquids, flip the switch and let the unit do its thing without having to nurse it. It doesn't take long to thoroughly crush and blend the drinks, leaving them thick and frozen.
I've used the food processor attachment on occasion with success. Given the limitations of a one speed / pulse blender as a food processor, I don't ask for much. However, it has done all that I've asked of it, from chopping onions and nuts to making garlic butter.
I paid $80 for my blender. At the time one of my friends looked at me like I was nuts for spending so much on a blender. Since then, she has buried two different $39.99 models, (not Oster) , without getting nearly the same usage as I have. Recently, I caught her making moves on my blender. Needless to say, I'll replace her long before I replace this blender.
Workhorse, that has lasted 17 years and counting It was a rushed purchase, in those halcyon days of buying BEFORE the Internet. When I desperately needed a new blender (mine died) for a pre-teen son who was on a liquid diet for a week or so. Brookstone had it--I bought it for more money than I hoped--but it worked and continued to work often enough to earn a place of limited counterspace. Still working after 17 years. Smoothies to soups blended, margaritas to whatever I don't want to use the food processor for (that is INSIDE a cabinet).
