I received this espresso machine as a gift. I have been very happy with it over the years, but unfortunatly today it gave up. I think the heating element went out. It gave me three years of good servive. So sad to see it go. I would buy it again.

This is the first espresso machine I've owned, but I can see no problems with it so far. It works extremely well, makes the espresso quickly, and is fairly easy to clean. The DVD that is included is extremely helpful for people out there who haven't used an espresso maker before. I know someone else with the same machine, and she has had no problems either. If you're looking for a relatively low cost espresso maker, this is the one to pick.

Could have been a 5 star product... Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5Average rating of 4/5
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this little espresso maker. I got it about a month ago and use it multiple times a week. It's really quiet, simple to use and clean, and surprisingly sturdy. It's also so tiny and cute!

I've had no issues with the steam wand. I don't use the "froth" setting, however. Instead, I keep it in the "down" position and pull the steam pitcher down so that the steam wand is pulled out a bit. (WARNING - I used to work in a coffee house, so I'm experienced with this. If you attempt this, do it veeeery slowly, otherwise milk will go everywhere.) Also, I highly recommend getting a steam pitcher and a thermometer. No other way to keep from under/over heating your milk.

(Also, a note on milk - for those of you that like creamy froth, the heavier the milk the better. Non-fat milk doesn't make the best foam, nor does it give your lattes that nice, creamy taste/texture. A caloric compromise.)

When I first got this machine, I followed the instructions perfectly. Fill the espresso to the line they recommend, fill the water to the metal band, etc. It made enough espresso for 2 12-16oz lattes for me and my boyfriend. However, I found that when he's not around, making espresso for one is difficult. The instructions don't mention anything about how to do this. Filling the water to the recommended line and using less espresso simply makes weak (gross) espresso. Using less water AND espresso makes burnt espresso. So unfortunately, I'm left with the options of either wasting espresso, or drinking more than I should in one sitting. I've definitely become quite the caffeine addict since purchasing this machine. It'd be nice to be able to make a great tasting single shot. It'd make my espresso supply last longer, as well. If it weren't for this issue, I'd have give 5 stars.

I use my espresso machine 1-2 times daily and save money at the coffee shop. I get my coffee and calcium at the same time. Love IT!!

Good...but not so good... Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5
Well, I have been using this little guy quite often...for about 8 months and almost daily. Dependable little bugger. For the price, I guess I would say that the experience has been well worth it. The main thing this machine has taught me, though, is how spending a little more for a REAL espresso machine is in my near future.

A couple things, successfully pulling a single shot isn't the same. It is using pressure to push the steam through the beans, but it comes out more as concentrated coffee and not really espresso. Not enough pressure. I do like that I can just exploit this fact and just pull some decent cups, but I've never had abundant success with the milk steamer.

Sometimes it just makes a mess...other times it works pretty good. If you want to make people think you're cool and like to drink something other than drip, go for it...but once they see you, they'll want one, too...and you can't properly pull a second shot without letting all the air out and filling it back up with water and coming back at it...you'll be dead before you can serve more than 3.

If you're all alone and don't have to pull shots for others (and you're broke but require some form of style), this would work for you...otherwise, don't be fooled by the discount...get something stronger...that's at least $125.
