11/17/06 Received email from Heather U. saying that IRobot was sending me a code stick. It was to be sent first class mail and I should have received it in 7-10 days.
11/25/06 I requested ticket be kept open until I received the package.
11/28/06 Received email from Heather A saying that package should be released for shipment in 2-3 business days.
12/03/06 I requested ticket be kept open until i received package
12/09/06 Adam(Customer Support Supervisor) emailed that package should ship in 24-48 hours.

Roomba -- you'll love it, AT FIRST, BUT THEN ... This could be, perhaps, the best, most time-saving item on the market today, if it weren't for all its problems. It's such a great time- and back-saver that I now own three different models, none of which currently works (which is per usual). I have bought new batteries, charges, machines, wheels, software, some of which more than once. It's so good that, when a new model would come out, I would buy it hoping that it would have less problems than the previous version (e.g., if you're an old-time customer, you'll remember the old batteries and how they ruined the old charges, which seems to be corrected only slightly in the newer models.). I love the idea of this machine, BUT I'M DONE WITH ROOMBA. Certainly, at the very least, customer service should be improved. SORRY, IROBOT -- BUT KEEP TRYING; THE IDEA IS WORTH IT!
For those giving these items five stars, they are probably new owners of roombas. Let's see if those ratings would hold up after a year from now or after having spent a great deal of time trying to get them to run like they did when they were first purchased. To make matters worse, I recommended roomba to sooo many people, who are now in the same boat as I am. Save your sanity; do it the old-fashioned way, at least for the near (I hope) future. Was Very Skeptical But Ended Up Amazed! I am a clean freak! I own a Rainbow Vacuum Cleaning System, but with a bad back I had to find another way to maintain my floors.
I fought my husband's suggestion to by a "Roomba" robotic vacuum for months. However, after my second "in-hospital lower back pain shots" within six months, I knew I would have to concede.
Hello? How did I ever get along without ROOMBA? All you have to do is empty the dust bin after "Robbie" works non-stop for about an hour and the proof is there! He can CLEAN!!
I learned quickly that some decluttering of the room is wise so he doesn't get tangled up in things like dining room chairs and electrical cords.
I have the Discovery Model and he returns to his charging base, plugs himself in to recharge and plays a cute tune to announce he is finished.
As far as price...well, hire a cleaning person for a couple of months, or buy a ROOMBA and it will very quickly pay for itself. New filters, brushes and other replacement parts are moderately priced so I can keep my ROOMBA in top condition.
Will I ever be without one? Not on your life! I'd give him 10 stars, if I could. A Converted Roomba User!!! LOVE IT! I made fun of a friend who had one until he turned it on and off it went to clean his outdated sculpted shag carpeting from the 60's or 70's
It doesn't work really well on carpeting, at least mine doesn't but it not a problem because I have wood floors.
My kids would come over and make fun of all the dust bunnies flying around because I have an active dog. Now they are amazed at how clean and shiny the floors are! Mine doesn't have the liquid but it does seem to put a shine on the floor.
I run mine every day in the kitchen and dining room.
Do beware of it getting suck on something although mine will back up and go forward until it gets away from the object.
Now the down side. You really have to be careful to clean out the dust bin often, especially if you haven't run it for a few days. That is why I tried to make it a daily ritual. Next is the noise, the only person in the house that likes the noise is the parakeet. I just go upstairs and can still hear it especially if it gets stuck.
All in all it is a wonderful tech toy!
If you grandchildren come over hand them the remote control and they love running it around the dining table.
