Cambridge Silversmiths Townhouse Satin 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4 customer reviews:

Durable, beautiful silverware LOVE!! I have had this set of silverware for 5 years plus. I have no rust spots and I absolutely love that it does not bend. Very sturdy. I also remember reading to avoid lemon or any citrus dishwashing soap. Maybe that is why others have had issues after washing. :) Hope this helps!
Mirror finish vs. satin I originally purchased the Cambridge Townhouse flatware from JC Penneys four years ago. I decided to add to my set. Penneys didn't have it available so I ended up purchasing them from Kohl's. I didn't at the time realize that I was getting a set that had a flat finsh, but since it was the same pattern, I was satisfied. DO NOT PURCHASE THE SATIN FINSIH! It DOES rust. I am presently looking to replace this rusted set with the MIRROR FINISH. That is the difference. And just remember not to use dishwasher detergent that contains lemon or lime, which I have faithly done. The "mirror finish" set looks beautiful. Cambridge should be ashamed to have sold a product of such poor quality as the satin finish. Anyone know how I might get in touch with Cambridge?
beautifu; and worth the work This set is gorgeous, feels great in your hand- smooth as silk! It is very heavy and feels expensive. What a beautiful, distinctive finish! I read reviews before I bought them that they discolor in the dishwasher, so I tried one spoon. It didn't discolor, but it did spot pretty badly. I had my last set for 25 years and the only reason I decided to buy a new set was because of dishwasher damage (etching- very common. You've probably all seen it on your drinking glasses.) So I had decided not to put my silverware in the dishwasher anyway.
Very Happy I have had this set for over three years, have always used the dishwasher, and have had no problems whatsoever. I felt that I should point out that there is more than one version of the exact same flatware, which may explain the different reviews. The stainless comes in 18/10 and also 18/0. The 18/10 is more expensive, but much higher quality and will not rust. The 18/0 looks the same, but is lower quality and CAN rust. Be careful prior to purchase that you get the better quality set, it is the one that will last for a long time. I am purchasing an additional set to add to the one I currently have. I am very happy with it, but will not buy anything less than the 18/10.
DO NOT BUY THIS FLATWARE! I hate to sound so harsh, but I wish I had not wasted my money on it. I fell in love with the feel and look of this flatware, so I bought 3 sets. (20 pcs. per set) I had read a few negative reviews, but I thought maybe it was the consumers fault they were having rust problems. I was also just hoping for the best in my case.
FIRST WASH (hand wash) and there were rust spots all over. Some large spots, some small...but rust all over. I have tried a number of approaches to prevent the rusting, but nothing seems to work. This is the 18/0 set, I read that the 18/10 is better and wont rust. I wish I could find where to buy that one, but frankly I don't have time to try this all over again.
I hate to discourage anyone, because it is SO PRETTY, but I would NEVER BUY THIS set.
Cambridge should be ashamed of selling this, because it it supposed to be QUALITY flatware. Thois may as well be BIG LOTS brand.
