Cuisinart 5-Inch Santoku Knife in Hanging Gift Box customer reviews:
Great Sized Knife If you want to chop like a TV chef but don't like unweildly size and weight of a chef's knife, this is a good alternative. It is very sharp and easy to use. Great balance and weight. I found this when looking for a larger Santuko type knife. I took it out of the package at the store and was immediately impressed with how it felt in my hand, with the light weight, and with the balance. I use if for cutting vegetables and have found it works better for me than the larger and heavier Furi 7 inch East West knife I had been using. The edge seems to hold well and touches up nicely on my old Chicago Cutlery sharpening steel. After one use, I gave away the Furi and this little jewel has become my most used knife. I'm not a chef and don't need anything bigger or heavier or in a harder steel. My other daily use knives are a Shun 3.5 inch paring knife, a Lamson slicer, and a Chicago Cutlery paring knife. Sometimes simple is best and Henry David Thoreau would love this highly functional little knife. Absolutely the best 5" in Santoku at this price point Those used to using higher end knifes, like Henckels and Wusthof, will notice that the blade is a little flexible and needs to be sharpened more frequently, but I still give this 5 stars because it far exceeds what one would expect for under $10! It's well balanced, comfortable, the rivits and handle are snug and clean, and the blade is easy to keep sharp. Love it I bought the 5 inch first and liked it so much I also got the 7 inch santoku by Cuisinart. Stay sharp and do a fine job. you get what you pay for PROS: Definitely price, looks like a more expensive knife
CONS: after sitting in the knife block for few weeks it's covered in rust.
I own half a dozen knifes ranging from $5 to $80 and i never seen
anything like this
rust is something i cant accept at any price point
I'm disappointed with Cuisinart brand
