WEATHER STATION, BAR608HGA/BLRGD-T customer reviews:
|
Best overall choice I spent a few hours looking for just the right weather system for under $150. I only really needed outdoor and indoor temperature. Living in Oregon, I also wanted to support a "local" manufacturer. Even without this preference, the BAR608HGA was clearly the right choice. It delivers all I want at a good price, plus indoor and outdoor humidity measurements, an auto-setting clock and a weather forecaster that predicts weather changes on the basis of changing atmospheric pressure.
I didn't give it five stars because it doesn't have the fit and finish of a truly outstanding consumer product--but as an iPod owner, I have admittedly high standards. The sliding door is a little inelegant and tends to stick, the backlight doesn't stay on as long as I would have liked, setup isn't ultra-easy...but who really cares? This is a quality product that does what it's supposed to do.
It works quite well and I like it a lot I have three of these. Well, one is still in the box and one is already 3+ years old. They are pretty accurate temperaturewise and are acceptable humiditywise. The latter never seem to be accurate no matter what digital and/or mechanical unit I tried so my expectations are not too high.
The atomic clock works only when the reception is perfect. In one of my rooms I have one of these plus a wall atomic clock. The latter always syncronizes whereas the former never. In other rooms it works OK.
Despite some shortcomings, I am very satisfied.
Works as expected I've had this for almost 2 years. It does exactly what it says it will do. I have to change batteries in the remotes about every 9 months. Maybe once a year in the base.
The only problem I could mention is that I have one (of the three I have connected) remote that seems to read the humidity low. Not a problem with the unit as sold, but with one remote.
Also, you can buy an extra remote for these at your local Radio Shack for less than Amazon sells them.
Rain Or Shine? Had this a couple years. Really actually does a pretty darn good job. I bought it as a toy, maybe all it it good for here in San Diego with OUR "weather"? But I use it, I like it!
Very good quality unit I am very satisfied with this unit! The readouts from the outdoor unit are very reliable, and the weather prediction is often better than the local news. The atomic clock sets easily when left alone. If the unit does have any flaw, it would be that it seems to go through batteries faster than a "regular" wireless thermometer. Easily overlooked when taken in comparison to the rest of the unit.
