Cuisinart CSB-77 Smart Stick Hand Blender with Whisk and Chopper Attachments customer reviews:

Rubbish! I would like to give it no stars but that's an option on Amazon rating. Bought in May (but only used about 4 times since then as we were away for a long summer). Used to blend tinned tomatoes. Worked fine couple of times then blades in blender, chopper and whisk turned very slowly and seemed to squeal when motor ran. Called up Cuisinart and they sent me a new kit. Same thing happened. So I called again and they sent me chopper lid and whisk attachment (only blender had worked in new kit). Now I've the handstick that works very well (for how long though?), chopper grinder doesn't work at all and neither does whisk. I looked inside the motor shaft and these "stripped teeth" everyone in the one-star category keeps on about are also looking that way in mine (I hadn't looked in the original one I sent back). Unfortunately I hadn't read the bad reviews before I bought it, and it seems that this "teeth stripping" is a continual problem with most of their hand sticks. I've already spent $20 between sending it back the first time and then receiving the new parts....I'd like to ask for a total refund for the now $70+ I've spent on it but I think such a request is futile.
nifty blender I love the Cuisinart Stick Blender for making smoothies. It's so easy to blend a nice banana-and-berry smoothie with orange juice in the measuring cup. All the parts are super-easy to clean too.
Save your money, this is poor quality Save your money and invest in a better immersion blender.
The teeth that connect to the different attachments are made of plastic - and they have worn off after only a few uses. None of the blades will spin now, regardless of which attachment you are using - rendering the blender completely useless.
Awesome tool This is one of the handiest tools in the kitchen. I have to be honest, I really don't use the attachments because I have a powerful Kitchen Aid food processor, a Cuisinart mini-chopper, a powerful Cuisinart blender and a decent electric handmixer.
The main event here is the immersion blender. With the attached cup, you can use it to make single serve protein shakes. My wife and I use it to make soups, specifically to thicken vegatable soups. Many soup recipes call for pouring the soup into a blender, and then returning it to the pot after it is blended. This blender allows you to blend it in the pot.
We've also used it to make thick sauces. Recently we tried it when we made our own cranberry juice. We used it to blend up the "popped" berries.
The recipe book has great ideas, but I'll be honest I haven't use them. So if you don't need the chopper and wisk, save some money and just get the blender.
Indispensable kitchen tool! What a genius tool! I originally bought this to blend hot soups without the dangerous and tiresome task of pouring scalding soup into a blender and making an enormous mess. Little did I know how quickly and easily I also could blend smoothies, make whipped cream, and chop veggies! Yes, the manual says only to run the motor for a certain number of seconds at a time. But as the other reviewers have indicated, it only takes a few seconds to chop or blend, so there is little danger of overheating the motor.
The stick attachment is a breeze to clean - just a tiny drop of soap and a good rinse in hot water and you're done! Much better than the traditional blender with its numerous pieces to be disassembled and washed.
I've made smoothies with large chunks of frozen fruit and even ice. As long as there is a little liquid in the bottom of the cup, the blender does just fine.
The chopper is my least favorite attachment. The top "lid" part of the chopper can't go in the dishwasher (or be immersed in water), which is annoying if you chop something like onions and want to get rid of the smell before chopping something else (such as nuts). That said, it's still useful if you don't mind the inconvenience of cleaning it.
The whisk works well--almost too well, as the attachment jumps up to speed so quickly, I've managed to spatter a bit of whipping cream almost every time. But if you use a deep bowl with tall sides, you should do well.
Most recently, I've been using this blender to make homemade baby food for my daughter. I just steam or roast organic fruits/veggies and then quickly blend with this great little tool. Fresh baby food couldn't be easier! This makes great homemade applesauce as well. I cook down a bunch of sliced (unpeeled) apples in a slow cooker with a little water and lemon juice. Once they're soft, I blend right in the crock and enjoy delicious, high-fiber applesauce!
If you're looking for a versatile kitchen tool that is easy to store, get this item! I use it more than any other kitchen appliance, including my mixer and larger-size food processor.
