Great Heater I own this heater and love it! It looks great and quickly heats the whole patio.
I owned one of those big mushroom top designs and that looked ugly on my patio and would always be too hot at my head and too cold for my feet. this model keeps my whole body warm. LOVE this Heater.... I owned one of those table top patio heaters for several years and it was just OK.... as long as you were at the table right under the thing and had nothing much more going on at the table than cocktails....AND had a lot of storage space to keep the 1lb. propane cylinders on hand. I had looked at this heater a couple of times over the last 2 years and deliberated if it would make sense on my covered patio. (I live in a ground floor apartment with pretty good sized covered patio.)All of the other patio heaters were just too tall and left me concerned about torching the patio above me! So I finally bought this one and figured if it didn't work out I could always pass it on to my sister who has an actual yard. As it turns out, it is awsome! I can turn the heater on and it puts out a nice even "warmth" and doesn't heat up to a point where I worry about burning the place down. Running it on medium brings my patio temperature up about 10-15 degrees AND leaves the screen cool enough to the touch so I don't worry about people bumping into the thing and getting burned. The quality is great and the thing if solidly built. The base is a heavy gauge plastic made by Runnermaid and is easy to slide around and access the controls. I bought the black - which looks better, I think , than the tan. My only negative comment is that there is not (yet) a cover for this. Bernzomatic assures me that there is one coming by the fall & should be available at Lowe's and Home Depot. (Hopefully Amazon will pick it uo as an item to sell!) I highly recommend this heater - it won't disappoint you. Pleasantly warm The Bernzomatic 2271BM Outdoor Patio Heater is definitely a quality item; beginning with the craftsmenship of its manufacture to the simple and reliable operation time after time. The design eliminates any unsightly or unsafe view of the propane tank, having it cleverly hidden in the base of the heater, but easy to get at for replacement. The installation took less than 1 minute and about 5 minutes to heat our gazebo. I recommend this heater for anyone who wants to extend their outdoor living in the late fall or early spring, be it patio, balcony or a gazebo. BEWARE OF BERNZOMATIC I have owned a Bernzomatic for two years. I was happy with it until it started failing to stay lit. That's when I found out that Bernzomatic does not sell parts, nor do they offer refferals for service. I live near a large city but can't find anyone to service it and it's only one year out of warranty. I'm going to end up trashing it and buy a different brand after only two years.
Consider your purhase of a Bernozomatic heater to be much like that of buying a very expensive Bic lighter.
