Yep, cuts Steak perfectly! These are great knives. Not the best looking, but will do at the dinner table. Great for the money. I have several of their knives.
Great knives! My daughter wanted new knives she could use to cut meats. I ordered these for a Christmas gift for her. She loves them! The handles are sturdy and secure, cuts even the toughest meats. Does not rust.
Forschner Steak Knives R H. Forschner by Victorinox 6-Piece 4-1/2-Inch Wavy Edge Steak Knife Set, Black Polypropylene Handles
Excellent purchase even though the knives feel a little light at first. I am well pleased and would recommend them.
Five stars, with reservations Since I first heard about Forschner kitchen knives on an episode of America's Test Kitchen, I've been in love with their products--the steel part, that is. Very sharp and they stay sharp for an unusually long time--I'm tempted to say an "unnaturally" long time.
As for these steak knives, the steel is every bit as good as anything else of theirs that I have bought. The handles, on the other hand, feel and look indistinguishable from handles on knives you'd get in a road-side diner in the '60s.
I do wish they had a bit more, what's a good word...."presence." I'm paying $15 for the steak, I'd enjoy it more with cutlery that felt weighier. If it was just me and my family, OK, we'll use these since it is about cutting the steak after all, isn't it.
But for when company comes, I'm debating about getting a different set of knives just for the feel. It's tough when you have to debate with yourself about sacrificing function for form--but this is the choice you have to make with these knives.
With a nicer handle these would be 100% the total package. Forschner dudes, are you reading this???
Sharp but no heft These knives are very sharp and function well but feel very insubstantial. If you are accustomed to a steak knife with any heft avoid these knives.
