sharp
These knives are very sharp and are color coded so the best one for each function is used such as pink for veggies. It eliminates the "jack-of-all-knives" which results in repeated replacements.
Great ice breaker.
I really like these knives. It helps me slice and cut eat type of food without washing it between the meat and the veggies. It really does helps me from using the meat knife to cut my veggies. Also, the blades cut very very well. Well worth the money.
Have stayed sharp for years! Love 'em!
These knives are perfect for small hands. I've never been comfortable with a chef's knife-- too big and too heavy and have usually done all my routine cutting with a paring knife! These were the first "big" knives I've ever used on a regular basis and I love them. I've never cut myself and never been afraid that I'd hurt myself. They're still charp and doing well after over 2 years of use. Get the tomato knife, too-- the serration really makes a difference for cutting soft, skinned produce.
Great Knives
I purchased one of these knives previously and adore it. It is well balanced, easy to clean and very, very sharp. It has maintained its edge for over 2 years now.
I bought this set as a gift, and the recipient was thrilled. In fact, 2 other people at the party asked me where I got the knives.
Just be warned that these knives are so sharp that extreme caution is needed.
Great Knives, Great Value!
I bought these knives about 3+ years ago from a Bed, Bath and Beyond store for $19.99 each. They are well worth it! I appreciate Cutco knives as well, but for the price, these are a supreme value.
They cut really well, and although the description says that they are "stainless steel" they really are "high carbon stainless steel" which is why they hold their sharpness. The high carbon part is harder and holds the sharp edge better than soft stainless steel, which dulls quickly.
They are a fun colored knife set that really get people asking questions, not your typical black with rivets set.
I agree with other reviewers in that if you are looking for a serious butcher's knife or something heavy duty, these are not it.
They are also pretty much full tang knives too - the colored blade goes through the handle part - where tyuo see the little vegge/meat cutouts is still the steel with a plastic type handle coating.
Anyhow, they do what they are supposed to do - cut really, really well. I used my yellow serrated knive yesterday for carving the still warm turkey (Thanksgiving) and it worked great!
Fun knives, work perfectly, Highly recommended.
