The Cheese Knife customer reviews: A Very Pleasant Surprise This cheese knife was recommended on one of my food groups. I love it! It never ceases to amaze me as to how the right tool can make a task so much easier. Cheese knife This knife is very sharp and cuts cheese in a variety of thicknesses without shredding the cheese. Some difficulty keeping the thickness consistant. With practice it may become easier to control the slice. Excellent way to slice the cheddar Ok, I know it's plastic and it looks "cheesy". Looks can be deceiving. I first stumbled across this item as I looked for a replacement for our beloved cheese plane that had developed a crack in its wooded handle. I was having trouble finding an adequate and affordable replacement so I decided to order this knife because of the reviews here. I was not disappointed. It slices cheddar cheese better than any metal knife or plane that I have ever had. You can slice it thick or thin. The cutting edge easily glides through the cheese and the pieces fall away after they've been cut. I am very happy with this purchase. The BEST! My friends and I agree that this is the best knife for cutting any variety of cheese - even a softer cheese. The first knife I bought at a kitchen specialty store for $17. When I wanted to purchase two more as gifts, I was delighted to find it at Amazon for much less. The Cheese Knife=The Only Tool for Cutting Cheese The Cheese Knife is made only of some kind of plastic! Cheese always sticks to a metal knife. It absolutely doesn't stick to The Cheese Knife. And so, with The Cheese Knife you can cut very smooth, thin (or thick) slices which then fall off The Cheese Knife and right onto the plate or a cracker. We use nothing else...except when I forget and pull out one of our usual metal knives. The first cut tells me to change the knife.
