Fabulous knives!
My father was a professional-level cook and he taught me that a good set of knives is the single most important tool used in the kitchen. I also believe you should invest enough time researching and invest enough money in making sure you have a set of knives that will last a lifetime. That being said, I will state that these knives are ideal. They are full tang knives (blade runs from tip to handle so they won't fall apart where the blade and handle meet), perfectly balanced, high-carbon stainless-steel and require little maintenance except for occasional sharpening. These should only be hand-washed (and I recommend thoroughly drying them immediately after washing). They function, feel and display beautifully. This is the perfect set of knives for the beginner or the professional. I highly recommend them.

ORDERED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR CHICAGO CUTLERY BLOCK SET I HAVE HAD FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS, LOOKING FOR MORE STEAK KNIVES; QUALITY IS NO WHERE NEAR THE SAME. THE KNIVES FROM THE ORIGINAL SET ARE IN GREAT CONDITION WITH NO HANDLE ISSUES. NEW KNIVES WEIGH HALF AS MUCH AND BLADE APPEARS VERY THIN.
