No leaching plastic, just chunks of it
We bought these bottles to try to avoid the leaching plastic. However, the plastic lid of these bottles are poorly build so the plastic actually shreded from the "screw" on the lid and got stuck at the mouth of the bottle. Some of those plastic particlants actually fell into the water. I might even have drank some of those.
I am still trying to find some high quality reusable glass water bottle.
Only glass bottle on the market
I use these to take water to work everyday. I have broke about 5 of them so far. It's very hard to travel with these without breaking them! The only complaint I have is that these bottles are obviously two recycled bottles mended together, and not very well. They do hold up though if you're careful with them. I didn't have problems with the plastic lids. I have 12 of ...I mean 7 of them.

I ordered a pack of these bottles with my drinking water system and am so glad I did. I could never find a portable glass container for water until I ordered from Aquasana. The bottles look great and make the water taste so clean and fresh!

The good far outweighs the bad. The bad? Glass can break, plastic caps can break down. The good? I purchased it direct from aquasana with free shipping. $5 a bottle is an excellent price. I read the reviews before purchasing, inquired with the manufacturer and they sell replacement plastic caps. I don't have to worry about cancer-causing anything getting into my body. I used to have 8 nalgenes but had to get rid of them. The plastic users will say the amount of chemical coming out of the plastic into the water is too small to count. But I say we have small amounts of cancer-causing stuff coming at us from our water bottles, non-stick cookware, pesticides on (in?) our food supply, in the air... it all adds up to bad news. Every little thing we can do helps. Thank you, Aquasana.
