The Ex 5-Piece Stainless-Steel Knife Set with Unique Holder, Black customer reviews: Glad I finally bought this!! I have had my eye on this fella for awhile. I broke one of my current knives (Ginsu, by the way, they suck) and caved and bought this. The I expected sub-par knife quality, figuring I could replace the knives at a later date. For me the charm was all in the voodoo man holder (sorry can't call him "the ex" I don't have an ex). I was pleasantly surprised when he arrived. The knives are fantastic!! The quality of the knives far surpasses the ginsus I have. You would NEVER be able to find knives this sharp for this price anywhere else. Don't forget about the holder!! He's awesome too! He's hard plastic, but very sturdy. Some of the other reviewers complained about his height (too tall), but he has to hold 5 knives, he wouldn't be able to do that if he was any shorter. So bottom line: yes, come for the rockin' voodoo man knife holder, he does not disappoint. But rest assured the excellent quality of the knives makes the total package well worth the investment!! Very Cool & Unique Knife Set So my wife basically got to choose everything that was in our living room, kitchen and bedroom (less the home theater system) -however, i asked her if i could choose the knife set whith this set in mind - she conceded probably not knowing what i was going to get needless to say she was surprised which is worth it to some degree anyway and the knife set is pretty cool - i am not real sure how great a knife set this is, but it seems like it is of good quality - it has worked pretty well the few times i have used it & it includes a 2 year warrenty - the actual knives are stainless steel and the blade & the handle are one piece) however, the purpose of the set is to stand out and it does just that - the actual body of the set is hard plastic (i bought the black one)although it doesnt seem like it is super sturdy, but it is good enough - please make sure you have enough room under your cabinet too - it is a little taller (check this, but it may be as tall as 15") than other sets A good sense of humor is a must I bought this knife set while going through a divorce. I think it's hysterical and the quality of the knives are better than i anticipated. The only draw back is the odd looks i get from friends and family who don't think it's as funny as i do or who think my sense of humor is inappropriate, or just do get how satisfying it is to put knives through your "ex". Too bad for them, I guess. I would recommend this product especially to those who are a little twisted. Great set Everyone thinks the holder is fun and the knives are good quality. The holder is plastic and not as strong as I expected but I'm still happy Slightly disappointed I saw this at a relatives house and had to have one. The difference is that in the year since she got hers, the construction quality appears to have declined. Mine wobbles slightly and there was very slight discoloration on the plastic and a few minor scrathes. I would have returned it, but as I said it was minor and it was a novelty item. It is the principle of charging $70 for a piece of plastic and then not having in it perfect shape. As for the knives, they arent great and they arent bad. However, as with all knives, they need to be hand washed and dried with a clean, soft cloth or they will rust. I would not recommend trying to dishwash these. Over all the novelty is great, but thats about what you are paying for.
