I love the fact that it is programmable, and especially the fact that it has a probe for cooking meat. I have used this to cook a whole chicken and a pork roast with the probe. Wonderfully moist meat. Of course, it won't brown the chicken, but since I take the skin off anyway, it does not matter. I have also cooked swiss steak. Yum. Again, 5 stars. Hamilton Beach 33956 Stay-or-Go 5-Quart Slow Cooker, White Excellent product! I have tried 6 soups so far. The result is always the same: "SUPER!". I like the cover with a thick soft rubber gasket. All controls are easy to understand and use without manual. Highly recommend to others. Isaak Great for a working family The slow cooker is great, I have not have one that sealed before so I had a mess every time cooked. The programming is so easy and accurate. I really recommend this product the size is just right for my family of four with just the right amount of left overs for the boys the next day. slow cooker I love this slow cooker it is very simple to use. It is so easy you can basically pull it right out of box and cook! The crock pulls out from the base for easy clean up. It has a digital timer that you can set for however long the receipe calls for, the crock pot will then stop cooking and set itself for "warm" after the alloted time. This is a very nice feature. I really love this item. Great potential, but poor quality control In the times when the product was working, the result was excellent. We liked the way we could program the unit to cook for a certain number of hours and then have it switch over to warm-mode automatically. The food was evenly cooked, and temperature control didn't seem to be an issue for us. Here's what went wrong. The first unit we bought failed right out of the box, with a bad on-off switch. Still, once we got to turn it on, it managed (once) to cook an excellent meal. So we swapped it for another of the same model. It worked very well for all of four weeks, but then it started switching OFF without warning mid-cycle, ruining the food before we could realize what had happened. This is very disappointing, because this model has the potential to be one of the best. But I must conclude there's a quality control issue. I may very well switch brands.
