Great compact steamer.
I think this machine is great. First off, it's nice and compact. Your able to hide the power cord underneath the base of the unit, the hose easily wraps around the top portion and the head of the steamer slides into place so it's not dangling off the unit. Included in the box is a storage bag for your attachments, so you don't lose them. I used this just last night to steam a sueded slip cover for a couch that's been in a bag for over 2 years and it worked like a dream, it took out every wrinkle. It heated up very quickly and produced enough steam to get out any wrinkle. It did get a tad hot around the head of the steamer if you kept your hand there too long, also it makes a gurgling noise as it heats up, but that dissipates after it's up and running. Other than that, it's a great item. I would totally buy another one. If I may dispense some advice (I worked in retail for several years and worked with professional steamers on a daily basis. If you have light garments like silks, cover the steamer head with a knee hi or stocking to protect the garment from oversteaming whatever elements are in the water and always steam from the inside of your garment - never on the outside. Rowenta is a really good name and usually produce good quality items. I almost didn't buy this because of some of the reviews. I guess you take a chance on everything you buy.
Bad decision
I bought this at Target. I had also used Rowenta irons and found they were very good.
I've tried this steamer multiple times and it just doesn't work.
It steams a little, leaving clothes wet, then kicks out hot water.
It's going back.
Inconsistent product can be dangerous to operate
Reading other entries I can only surmise Rowenta has some problems with manufacturing quality control. I also experienced hose problems. I only got steam out of the handle 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time I had a hot jet of steam escaping the fill hole on the base unit. Because the unit must be on the floor during use it was downright dangerous to be standing over the unit when it switched from "handle steam" to "base unit steam."
Back it goes. And a sad thing, too. I have been a lifelong fan of Rowenta products and am deeply disappointed by this purchase.
Always wanted one
I was so happy when I ordered this light weight Rowenta steamer. Not only is it light to carry, but it is also extremely effective. I have looked at more expensive models with other options, but this one removes the wrinkles out of my jackets and dresses. Why spend extra money when this one does the job? My dad was a dry cleaner, so I was spoiled on steam presses. Now I can remove the wrinkles and look groomed.
Meltdown
DO NOT purchase this product. The hose on mine melted while in use and hot water was all over my foot. Found other users had the same problem after reading other review. Very unsafe.
