I am really angry at myself for not listening to others before purchasing this coffee maker. I really wanted the Grind/Brew so that i wouldn't make such a mess every morning grinding and then dumping the coffee into my coffeepot. Instead i now have a crappy coffee maker that makes a mess and brews a super weak cup of coffee. If you like a strong cup of coffee, go elsewhere. This one only holds enough beans for about 8 cups!! It is pretty simple to use but it's easy to drop beans in places they don't belong! And ground coffee does seem to stick to everything, thus making clean up not that simple after all. All in all a really bad investment.

List Price: $185.00. Ha Ha. Funny. $185 for a bunch of plastic and stainless that heats up water? Oh yea, it also grinds, don't let me forget that $10 added value.

OK. My second Cuisinart. The first lasted 3 years. This machine is $100. A $20 black MR COFFEE would be a better investment.

This coffee maker is a pain in the rear to keep clean and unclogged on a daily basis. I'm a simple guy. I want to make coffee in a hurry in the morning. I don't want to fuss about cleaning the inside of the grindings that stick to the moist down chute and have to open the grinding compartment up after making coffee if I forgot to open up the insides after the previous batch to let the moisture out. The moisture, if not corrected could lead to buildup of nasties, mold, etc. The grinder hopper is far to small for a strong batch. There's too many plastic bits to insert just to make a pot, i.e. too fiddly.

Save your dough, in my opinion, and get something that's a lot simpler.

My daughter got this pot for a wedding present four years ago and I think it makes wonderful coffee and is worth the trouble to clean it. She has never had a problem with the pot and she does not do anything special to keep it clean.

I got the plastic version myself to save money and it lasted a year or two and the plastic broke so I decided to get this one inspite of the bad reviews.

I had it two months when it leaked on the counter -- clear water from under the pot (Cuisinart said a water pipe was leaking). I called Cuisinart and they said I had to send the old one back (at my expense) and they would send me a new one because it has a three year warranty. I waited for the new one to come so I would have a box for the old one and I have been too busy to send the old one back because the return instructions were so complicated.

Today the new one leaked also -- I have been using it about three weeks.

I just called Cuisinart and told them not to bother sending another one and that I was not sending either of these back -- that I am putting both of them in the trash. They would not give me a refund.

I called Amazon and they will not give me a refund either because it is later than 30 days on the first one and I got the second one directly from Cuisinart.

I loved the pot and I do not know why Cuisinart cannot make a coffee pot that actually works. I would have been willing to buy a new one every year or two just to have this pot, but not send one back every other month for three years.

This is a bad design Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5
If you plan to buy one of these Cuisinart grind & brew machines, please carefully note the complaints on cleaning. They are valid. My particular problem is the grinder sticking inside the unit, and it is major. I solved this somewhat by purchasing a second grinder unit so that hopefully one would always be clean, dry and ready to go. That system failed over the Thanksgiving weekend, when we were brewing pot after pot. Once again, the grinder stuck, requiring the use of vegetable oil and pliers. I'm sure Cuisinart would not recommend this method, but I no longer care if I break it.
