Halo 3290 UV-ST Ultraviolet Vacuum Description
|
There's clean and then there's really clean. Halo Technologies offers a safe-to-use, home vacuum cleaner that employs UV-C light to help eliminate particles that others can't, including those with HEPA filtration (which this model also features). Ultraviolet light kills potentially dangerous germs in your home by disrupting the DNA structure of their cells - or simply breaking down the germs' make-up. The Ohio State University and University of Arizona researchers have made sure that these vacuums produce the exact amount of "irradiance" (or rays) to kill germs instantly, safely and effectively with no more effort than regular vacuuming. Germicidal ultraviolet light is an accepted, safe and reliable way to kill unseen organisms, including the dust mites, bacteria, germs and viruses that live and thrive in carpet. Hospitals have safely employed germicidal UV light to sterilize surgical instruments, and many municipalities employ UV light to sterilize their water. Use your Halo as directed, and dust mites, viruses, mold and bacteria will be the only things harmed in the vacuuming of your home. Wide cleaning path lets you clean quickly and efficiently The 31 foot power cord lets you easily clean every corner of your home The five-level height adjuster allows you to move from carpets and rugs to tile and hard woods with ease Includes package of 3 replacement bags (additional bags available as HLT 5010)

Halo 3290 UV-ST Ultraviolet Vacuum customer reviews:
|
Worked great for the first month, still waiting for repair I purchased this machine after seeing an add on TV. I got the machine home, and was actually excited about vacuuming. The UV light on the vacuum seemed to do a good job at destroying all the dust mites in my carpet. I have to say it looks very cheap, and doesn't look very durable. Within a month and half of receiving this machine, I began to have problems with UV light. It would turn on sometimes, and sometimes it would not come on at all. Finally it stopped working all together.
I was able to find a local repair shop who is a warranty station for Halo vacuums. I dropped it off over 3 weeks ago, and the owner of the shop keeps telling me he is waiting on the part. This is very frustrating as I know have to go back to my ultra-heavy 15 year old Kirby which I kept only for the basement.
My experience with this Halo has been the vacuum is great when it is working, but the service after the sale has left a lot to be desired.
Vacuum Cleaner-Halo 3290 My husband is a vacuum freak, we have every kind of vacuum imaginable, so when this one came out, I knew we were going to purchase it. Well, it came the other day. This is the most unbelievable vacuum they have come up with yet. The ultraviolet light provides you with the ability to see stuff that normally you wouldn't see. The only thing I wish is that it was bagless-it would be one less thing for us to worry about (the bags) but their point is that all of the critters that are vacuumed up will be held in a bag so that they will die! I would recommend it highly!
My Suggestion: Purchase at a retailer with a liberal return policy When one of our Lindhaus uprights died, I ordered the Halo 3290 from Costco. It's currently offered for $175 delivered. That appeared to be a good deal from my brief comparising shopping.
Pop the handle in and you're ready to vacuum. First impressions? Not terribly heavy for a non-self propelled unit. It is most definately louder than any vacuum I have owned. But more than that, our particular unit is PIERCING to the ears. There is a very high pitched whine? that is simply quite awful.
I like the way it grooms our plush carpet. I can't attest to it's germ-killing abilities but since we have allergy sufferers in the house, I was hoping for the best. The attachments are a joke, an after thought perhaps.
I vacuumed the entire home, finally ending in our master bedroom. We have a wood bed with side rails and I was unable to pull the handle down enough to fit under the bed. Huh? Tried multiple times, and the vacuum simply does not lay flat enough to fit under the bed. Well, that is a deal buster for me.
Thankfully, I purchased this at Costco.com and they offer a liberal return policy. My suggestion to anyone considering this model would be to shop where you can return it if it fails to impress.
Excellent Customer Service I bought my Halo vacuum about one year ago and was impressed by it's overall performance. It picked up everything on the floor and I really like the idea of the light. About a month ago my vacuum stopped working, it made a very loud noise and the brush wouldn't turn. I almost just bought a new vacuum because I figured if I paid to send it back they would just tell me I didn't use it properly. I finally decided to call them and the polite representative told me it would be too expensive for me to ship it and although he thought it sounded like I sucked up something I shouldn't have (I probably did!) he would send me out a refurbished unit for a $20 shipping charge. That was Friday and today,Wednesday, I received a new vacuum. He told me to keep my old one for parts. So far I am completely satisfied whith my halo vacuum and the company that made it.
Best for allergies I have a severe allergy to dust mites and have tried everything, including the purchase of hard wood floors, uv lights for my heating ducts, etc.
This BY FAR worked the best! I can't believe that it actually worked (my friend was joking that I was gullible and would sell me a vacuum with a flashlight attached too). Here is how I know that it worked:
1. I would break out in red rashes all across my body when there is high dust mite exposure, (typically during fall and winter). Most of the spots have completely disappeared.
2. I can tell when I get lazy and don't vacuum. I get irritations and need to vacuum again. Also, when I stay at a friends house, the irritations come back.
I would recommend vacuuming at least once a week and after 2 or 3 weeks you should see a difference (if you suffer from dust mite allergies). You probably won't notice anything else other than dust mite.
The only bad thing is that the vacuum itself is not that great. I bought this when it came out initially and had to send it in twice due to a manufacturing defect. I don't care about the vacuum itself though, its the uv light that has worked the best.
What a great invention...Thank you Halo!!!
