This was an excellent buy, complete with sharpener so we purchased even more to give as gifts. A comfortable and easy knife set to use. It is one of our favorites in the kitchen. I recommend this knife for new cooks who need to learn how to handle knives. wonderful knife! I am a huge fan of Rachel Ray and was so excited to get a nice knife. This knife is a fabulous knife, and I think quite more affordable than a lot of the other fancy kitchen knives. I like that is is shorter and so I am not weilding a sword as I'm trying to cut veggies. It is super sharp and cleans wonderfully. The handle is that rubber-plastic stuff so it's quite comfortable to hold and still easy to clean. I absolutely love this knife and admire Rachel Ray and am proud to buy her stuff. I purchased it with the Furi Diamond Fingers Sharpener and am very happy. The handle is plastic. The knife is lightweight and comfortable to use. Many other knifes I find my hand slipping up towards the blade and it becomes uncomfortable quickly. I just finished chopping tomatoes and peppers for 10 batches of salsa quickly and comfortably. I would highly recommend this knife.
