SteamFast SF-292 Multi-Purpose Floor Mop and Handheld Steam Cleaner customer reviews: Satisfied... I am new to the steaming world, but this product has been good to me so far (2 tries into in). I read a lot reviews in Amazon for the predecessor of this (SF-290) and they were all around good. I am not sure if there were any improvements with SF-292 though. I was tempted to get the Bissell, but this one had more versatility for use. It was a bit cheaper too. I love how I can clean pretty much anything now - shower door, steam clothes, grimy spots. Even if it doesn't take out any messiness itself, it loosens it to the point it's easy to wipe off without laborous scrubbing. And pretty easy to use - heats up fast, easy to assemble. Same complaints as others though - cord is short, have to refill water after about 2 rooms. Overall, pretty satisfied with this product and my money's worth. p.s. per another poster, you can replace the pads with Bissell 3255 Steam Mop Microfiber Pad Replacements. Or any microfiber towel can do. First Impression- It's okay It's easy to assemble. However, the pole/handle has the option to lengthen or shorten and mine was stuck. I almost sent it back, because when I pulled on it, it seemed like it was going to break. Eventually, it came out, though. Just be aware that it should get longer if you need it to. I did the kitchen floor last night. I wasn't "amazed" by the amount of dirt it picked up. It didn't pick up years of mud and grime, or change the color of my floor or anything! In fact, I will probably re-use the cloth provided once more before I wash it. But the floors really feel clean today, so I'm happy with the results. And- NO SOAP or CHEMICALS! I'm interested to see how the handheld steamer works on showers and corners and the like. I chose this steamer over all others because it DID include both the floor mop and the handheld option, so I hope I made the right decision! The overall "FEEL" of the product is definitely reminiscent of infomercial quality... it just doesn't feel like a Bissel or other household name would. But I'm willing to give it 30 days to prove itself to me. I'll update this as I've used it more! UPDATE: I used it over the weekend on medium-high to steam clean the glass shower door and frame in the house I just purchased. I cannot tell you how many years of mildew and mold and funk this thing blasted away from the frame of this door! I spent probably 2 hours cleaning the shower that day because I couldn't believe how much of that stuff was built up in there. So it definitely earned it's place in our house for that reason. The clothes steamer attachment, which also houses the squeegee attachment, seem to leak down my arm while I am trying to work, which is pretty annoying. And to do the shower job, I went through probably 15 paper towels (too icky for a regular towel) and 1 hand towel for wiping up the wetness. Bottom line- It's not the greatest product in the world, but I've found some very valid uses for this. No other brand right now offers the hand steamer/mop combo, and I think it is worth the money to have both options available and only one small product to store. Don't bother I usually don't leave one star reviews.....but this one deserves it. I wanted a good steam mop for the floors and I liked the fact that it could be a hand held steamer for other jobs as well......well don't fall for it. All I got from this steamer mop was hot water pouring out over the floor. It didn't do anything but get everything wet with really hot water. I had to use a regular mop just to clean it up after my first test with it. I tried it again after reviewing the instruction book on it and it did the same thing. I have since bought just a mop steamer that doesn't do anything but floors and it works great........it pours out the steam and the floor dries within a few seconds (shark brand floor steamer). If you can get this thing to work good for you.......I certainly had nothing but problems with it and have since returned it to amazon. Best Thing I Ever Bought!!! This is the best product that I ever bought. The mop is wonderful and works extremely well. The pads could be thicker so I went out and bought a thick hand towel and cut it to fit. Now it's perfect. I also love the hand steamer. I use it in the bathroom around the toliet and when my kids spilled sticky stuff in the fridge and didn't wipe it up (of course!) I used the hand steamer and it came right off in two seconds! A must have if you have children!! Excellent choice for lots of hard-surface floors Great Product: I purchased this steam cleaner in search of a mop that would ease the chore of cleaning large areas of tile and hardwood floors. My previous cleaner (flip style vacuum + mop) was too heavy and left the floors too wet, thus didn't get used much. I am delighted with this mop: Very effective, lightweight, maneuverable; produces steam very quickly; and I no longer have to dry the the hardwood to keep it from staying wet too long. I also found the price on Amazon to be extremely competitive compared to other vendors.
