THE BOSS WILL PUT YOU TO WORK!!! 
After reading many reviews myself, I opted for the EUREKA BOSS. I was not sure of the difference between this model and the EUREKA MIGHTY MITE...I figured the BOSS had 12amps and could potentially supply more suction power.
I think the vacuum works well on bare floors, I cleaned my lovely hardwoods with no problems..and it did wonders on the bathroom and kitchen floors aswell. However, I find that this little vacuum really puts you to work when it comes to cleaning carpet. I must have vacuumed the same spot on my area rug 10 times before I was content with the results. The same thing went for my low pile carpeting in the basement, after multiple passes, it finally got the job done.
It comes with one attachment for both hard floors and carpeting, a brush tool for upholstery and a crevace tool. It's compact enough for easy storage, however, it doesn't come with a retractable cord. I like the fact that it's equiped with a HEPA filter, and I don't mind bagged vacuums, you toss the bag right out and that's the end of that, no messy jobs.
If you have mostly hardwood floors, then I would recommend this product, however, if you're looking for superior suction to thoroughly clean your rugs in just a few passes, then you will be dissapointed.
Best floor vac EVER, especially if you have pets!!
Okay, I deeply love this vacuum. And let me first state that I am not the kind of person to just hand out praise over nothing. I am usually the one criticizing. I know my review is long but that's because I love this vac so much. I cleaned houses all through college and that's where I discovered this vacuum. I bought it because it was cheap! To this day it remains the one thing I CANNOT clean without.
Now, keep in mind, this is NOT a vacuum for all-carpeted houses (it has no rotating brushes) but it does work on carpet, especially if you have no pets. That said, it is ideal for old rugs that can be easily damaged by the rotating brushes. However, it is the best for floors without carpet--and everything else. The long, light-weight and adjustable hose allows you to reach ALL COBWEBS, and you can use the bristle brush to dust everything in your house without ever touching the dust yourself! I dust the leaves of my indoor plants, lamp shades, windowsills, upholstery...anything that gathers dust can be vacuumed with this! Did you groggily spill coffee grounds all over the counter making the morning coffee? Grab The Boss.
It uses bags (they aren't the most common size, MM, but are at walmart and kmart and they're cheap so stock up) which I love. I don't understand the whole 'bagless' craze--it just means you get to scrape the crud out with your hands.
It comes with a few attachments all of which work incredibly well. It has an edger that I use on baseboards--never bend down again! It has AWESOME SUCTION POWER--the most important vacuum feature. Stick it into a jar full of change and it will disappear! (Not that I recommend this, it would be dumb. But you know, sometimes you don't feel like picking that nickel off the floor).
I have owned the same one since 1998 and have never had a single problem!! My house is all hardwood, I HAVE FOUR SHEDDING DOGS and I do not own a broom. I love this vacuum like a child!

I finally found a vacuum i like! I recently figured out that the upright vacuums I usually buy are not for me. I had bought an oreck and got the buster buddy free...well the oreck upright bit the dust while the buster buddy trekked on. I decided I wanted a buster buddy with wheels...and i found this vacuum It is very lightweight which is great It has wheels so you can pull it along, and it really works great I usually buy high end vacuums and this one can beat the bag off of any vacuum. It sucks so hard it pulls the carpet up a bit..and talk about pet hair. With two angora long hairs i have to vacuum every day. The head has a fabric which is like the old hand lint removers we used to use. One person mentioned that it felt "cheap" It doesn't feel that way to me..I believe it is made to be lightweight but is is very sturdy Aside from it working so well the best thing is it does not hurt my back to use it like my old uprights
Very good for small places
5 stars because it corresponds to my needs : canister vacuum, small, light, handy, sucking, with bag - and I have a small studio so it doesn't need big work.
I had the Eureka 431BXZ Optima Lightweight Upright Vacuum Cleaner before (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E7YLJK) and I was not satisfied: after a short time it was not sucking anymore and was uniformly spreading dust/hair on my mat without removing them. This vacuum was cheaper, but if it needs to replace the filters often no way .. Also it is a bagless vacuum and it was quite a mess to clean.
This one sucked all the hair and dust out of my mat!! It's a canister vacuum and is very compact - this is good because I have not much storage. At the same time I just find canister vacuum more convenient. This one is so light and small that you can carry it while vacuuming.
Now, it is quite cheap material (making it light) and it is not of high quality - it is perfect for my very small studio (if it keeps working well! - it's been 10 days I have it) but I would definitely not buy it to take care of a big place. For my use, totally satisfied.
